Brewed using a single hop variety, which changes every month or so, our Single Hop range has gained a bit of a following. We add plenty of crystal malt and a small amount of chocolate malt to a hot mash to give a full bodied copper coloured base with a slight roast malt flavour. Several generous hop additions during the boil create a beer that allows the character of each hop variety to shine through. (July—August : Aurora) |

Named after a famous 800 year old oak tree, Old Knobbley is an interesting and well balanced dark ruby best bitter. Crystal, chocolate and black malts are added to the mash to create a complex malty flavour with hints of coffee and chocolate. Several additions of Fuggles, Challenger and East Kent Goldings hops in the boil produce a lingering hoppy finish.

Brewed exclusively for the Watershed Café Bar, Arbor Harbour is an easy drinking deep golden best bitter. We've used only Warminster malt and Worcestershire hops to create a refreshing beer with gentle roasted malt flavours balanced by a delicate hoppy aftertaste.

Originally intended as an occasional beer, we’ve decided to keep on brewing this one as it’s gone down so well. We start with low colour Maris Otter and wheat malts in the mash and add a small percentage of Caramalt to add body and impart a slightly sweet caramel taste. In the boil we use Cascade hops for bittering, followed by a Aurora and Motueka hops for flavour and aroma. The result is a premium blonde ale that’s packed with flavour.

We believe that a proper oyster stout should be made with oysters. We’ve used six different grains, including oats, wheat and roasted barley, and Fuggles hops for that traditional stout character. We’ve then added whole oysters, shells and all, during the last fifteen minutes of the boil. The result is a smooth chocolaty stout that leaves you wanting more.
